A Day of Simple Giving, hosted by Grassroot Givers, will be held on Saturday, November 20, from 10am to 2pm, at St. Sophia’s Greek Church at 440 Whitehall Road in Albany.
During the event, we will be making practical items to share with local homeless shelters and low-income families. Volunteers will create or assemble gifts at one of the Donation Stations. We will bake cookies to deliver to community dinners, assemble gift bags filled with household items (laundry detergent, paper towels), and create centerpieces for the Equinox Thanksgiving dinner; these are examples of the hundreds of donations that will benefit local programs in our area.
How can you participate?
There are many ways volunteers can get involved, both before the event and at the event itself. We are looking for volunteer groups to help make this day a success!
