Albany County Veterans
In Memory of Gerald B. Colman, MD

Dr. Gerald Colman was a distinguished plastic surgeon who worked in Albany since 1971, specializing in reconstructive surgery.  He also volunteered with Operation Smile, an organization providing free surgical services around the world for children with cleft lips and palates.  He performed this surgery in many countries, including Russia, Vietnam, China, and the Philippines.  As a young man, Dr. Colman served as a surgeon during the Vietnam war.  He was dedicated to veterans’ causes and concerned about the care of veterans returning home.  To honor his memory, Grassroot Givers will focus on supporting Capital District Veterans in need.
